Majority Rules Game Show for College Events

Majority Rules Game Show is brand new TRIVIA FREE game! That’s right – no correct or incorrect answers – just what the majority decides!

Everyone plays Majority Rules Game Show! This fun and completely interactive game is played from their seats in the audience! They play on their phone, tablet or laptop using a unique code created just for that game. The technology tabulates answers based on when they answer on their device (not the main screen) so that scoring is 100% accurate.

Here’s how Majority Rules works:

We put a question on the board such as “Which is healthier?” then provide two answers, in this case “tater tots” or “french fries”. This isn’t the time to discuss that they’re both deep fat fried potatoes, it’s the time to decide on an answer and log your answer in. There is no “right answer” there’s only what the majority says. If you vote with the majority – you get points. How many points you get depends on how quickly you logged in your answer!

A running tabulation of scores is shown between each round.

And then…

After several questions like the one above with two answers – we switch into “Battle Royale” mode where more is at risk! In “Battle Royale” mode there are now 4 possibilities to choose from and your choice is more important than ever – because if you guess the lowest ranking option – you lose all of your points and will have to fight your way back to the top of the leaderboard.

Surprises

Every Majority Rules Game Show has surprises built into it with recognition and prizes for the winners!

About the gameplay:

Each show lasts for about 60-75 minutes. Can be tailored for shorter times or multiple games over a longer time.

      • Guests sign on from their phone, tablet or laptop with a unique code just for your game.
      • Our hosts add humor and fun to every question and offer additional info about many of them.
      • The faster a player records their answer – the more points they get!
      • 5 Rounds are played and winners are awarded prizes each round so there are lots of chances to win!
      • The challenges are designed to create discussion and laughter.
      • Majority Rules Game Show gameplay includes video, music, sound effects, and great production value – even at the Bronze Level.
      • We can currently handle crowds up to 1000 people. Larger audiences are available, though fees would be slightly higher.
      • Think of this show as an activity more than a full-blown game show. Kind of an alternative to BINGO so everyone can play
      • This show can be a live event or a virtual show played over Zoom! It can even be a hybrid of the two!

This show is available nationwide, and requires only a host, and a minimal amount of technical needs (trust us – you’ve got it all easily).

What our college customers are saying about Survey Says

" You, James and CJ are absolutely awesome!!! The talk is already around the central administration building about what a fantastic time the Business & Finance division had during our retreat. I can't thank you guys enough for your talent, high energy and expertise. As promised, I will share my experience with other department managers who plan retreats for their areas and also with anyone else who will listen to me brag about your team. I wish I could thank you all bigger than what I have. If EVER we have need of services like yours, you all will be the ones we call. That's a guarantee!! Feel free to share my testimonial on your website....including this email. We appreciate your professionalism before, during and after our event. We were more than pleased with your service. And lastly, thanks for sharing the pictures you took. These are memories we definitely wanted captured. Until next time, you, James and CJ, take good care."
"This is the 3rd time we have had your crew, which says something in itself, and each time is better than the last. Gus is an absolute pleasure to work with and makes my job a piece of cake during each employee Christmas party. He does a fantastic job pumping up the crowd during the show. I’ve had several employees come to me and say this was the best party yet. Your tech guy, James, does a great job being on cue. Each show has run flawlessly because of his very active role behind the scenes. Please pass along that I really appreciate the extras—being able to use your mic to do our employee recognitions/door prizes afterwards, and the background music you all provide before and after your shows. You have a great thing going and I have enjoyed getting to know your crew. I can’t express enough how much I appreciate you—makes the party planning worth it. Thank you for another great performance!"

"Midland Project Graduation has invited To Go Events to do our event for the last three years! The students that graduate every year look forward to having them there and say it is one of the best parts of our party! Thank you again for making our event such a blast! We love To Go Events!!"

Is a Prize Package Included & How Much
All college events include a $300 prize package. Prizes can be cash, or if your University has rules against cash we can do Amazon.com gift cards. There is a slight fee associated for managing amazon gift cards as the process itself takes longer than performing the show. 🙂

All other events are quoted with the client providing prizes.

What level of production is Majority Rules available in?
In It To Win It is available in all levels of production: Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum. Bronze and Silver are identical with the exception that with the Silver package you will also have an on site technician to take care of all technical needs of the show – allowing the host to focus only on entertainment.

Honestly – the Bronze Level is the way to go with this show as it’s all about the interaction with the audience and the professional hosting and technology that we bring to make the show rock. Very little actually happens on the stage – this show plays more like BINGO.

We’ll ask you to provide a few things for this show. It leaves the big sets at home and uses readily available items from your campus. See “Technical Needs” on this page for those items. It also makes the show super affordable, especially for distant shows, as our host can fly to your show instead of drive.

What are the technical needs of In It To Win It?

We’ll need to following to be provided for the Silver/Bronze Level (Budget) Shows.

  • Video Projector & Enough Cable to reach the Podium
  • Podium
  • Sound System that is appropriate to the venue
  • Extension Cord with Power Strip – enough to reach the podium.
  • Technician who knows how to access your sound/video
  • 2 6 foot banquet style tables.

We bring just about everything needed for these shows. See tech rider on downloads page for specific details, but here’s an overview of what we’ll need:

Electrical: Our equipment can run off of regular household current. We ask that 4 outlets, on 20 amp circuits, be available for our exclusive use.

If these outlets are further than 30′ away from the performance area then extension cords should be provided.

General Stage Lighting: A general stage wash is needed for the show. The lighting we carry is for effect and general illumination should be provided by the venue. Our Platinum level shows include full stage lighting.

Sound: We carry our own sound equipment for Beat the Banker

Load in/Load out assistance: We have a LOT of gear to load in. It’s all on wheels, so there’s no heavy lifting. We don’t require help, but we sure appreciate it when we get it and it puts our crew in a great mood for your show!

All of the above plus we strongly recommend a spider box or a direct power input as we will be drawing a lot of power. This is only for the platinum level shows as the lighting package and sound package is much more robust and intense.

How are people selected to play?
Everyone plays Majority Rules via their phone, tablet or laptop computer.
Can we get all inclusive pricing?
Of course. We list our prices plus travel and lodging, but we will give you a firm price for travel, and if you prefer we can even include the cost of the hotel.

You’ll know exactly what your price is before we contract. No Surprises.

We’re all about being easy to work with.

Do you have insurance?
Of course. We are fully insured. We can add your event to our policy at no additional charge – so you’re covered too.

There is no cost for his as long as we have at least 2 weeks notice. Rushes may incur a $50 charge – so please check in advance if you need any special wording.

How much time does it take to set up/tear down?

This show can be set in under an hour. Realistically it can be set in 20 minutes if all of the assets are in place such as sound and video. Teardown and load out takes about 20 minutes too.

Take about 3-3 1/2 hours to set up and about 60-90 minutes to tear down and load out.

Please take this into account when scheduling your facilities.

Shorter set up times (within reason) can be accomplished by us bringing in extra crew at an extra cost. Please inquire if you will need us to do this.

Take about 4-4 1/2 hours to set up and about 75-100 minutes to tear down and load out.

Please take this into account when scheduling your facilities.

Shorter set up times (within reason) can be accomplished by us bringing in extra crew at an extra cost. Please inquire if you will need us to do this.

These set up times assume easy access to the rooms, a loading dock and NO STAIRS. If we will need extra time to load in please let us know in advance.

How long is a show?
Left to it’s own devices our shows last between 60-90 minutes with an average of 70 minutes.

We can adjust to fit your event. We recommend 65 minutes – 70 minutes.

Can we customize the game or game play?
While some customization can be done in the way of branding, this particular game doesn’t lend itself well to customization or learning objectives.

For that we’d recommend Survey Says or Fast Action Trivia.

What size of performance area is needed?
This show has the easiest space needs of any show we do. We just need a place to set up a lectern or a table with a computer and a control board and sound mixer.

Guests would also need to be able to see the video screen.

State Fees/Taxes/Permits
Some states such as California, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina and Missouri (just a few that we know of) have “Out of State Entertainer” taxes or state income taxes that we don’t have here in our home state of Texas.

In order to avoid raising our prices by up to 5% for everyone, our contracts will always contain this wording:

SPECIAL NOTE: The agreed upon fee is the amount that should be paid to Game Shows To Go AFTER ANY FEES, STATE TAXES (income, performer or otherwise), Special Licensing Fees required by your state or other municipality or organization. There is no way for us to keep up with all 50 states and thousands of states and cities. The amount of the check written to Game Shows to go, after deductions should be (amount quoted for show). If the gross needs to be adjusted please do so to ensure the proper payment amount. Thanks for your understanding.

This seems to be the best way to keep our prices low and only pass along these costs to the states/people who charge them. Our fees usually include travel/lodging/prizes/promotional materials and many other expenses and that are not income.

Ways we can work around this are:

  • Add the amount expected to be deducted for these fees/taxes to the amount your check is requested for.
  • Subtract the amount of fees/taxes from the prize money we give at the show (if we are providing prizes).
  • Add a clause that says expenses of “up to <the amount of taxes/fees> will be billed after the show” and we’ll bill you for that exact amount.
Are discounts available?
We fully participate in block bookings both through NACA and on our own. Check our calendar page to see when we’ll be coming near you to save.

We give HUGE discounts to schools who work with us to create routes. Using Coop buying really helps everyone to win.

You can also get discounts by scheduling more than one show during the school year.

Other than that, we have a published price list with competitive pricing that we stand by. We don’t give an inflated price just to give you a false discount. We quote a great market price and stick to it. We hope you’ll appreciate us being up front about this, it seems to be the most ethical way to do business.
